What is the role of the human artist when machines can generate seemingly artistic outputs? We view human intentionality, interpretation and cultural context as central to the artistic process. In a time when AI technologies are rapidly reshaping creative industries, how do we protect the ”human touch?” Generative models find outputs in the latent space, a sea of possibilities in which data points cluster. What is the human equivalent of this space? Lived experience, thoughts, ideas, or emotions? In this two-hour workshop, led by Laura Herman and Ebba Lindgren, we will explore Generative AI's latent space together, through prompting, talking, and sharing our thoughts. The workshop participants' investigations will directly contribute to the thematics and potential display of an exhibition that is planned to take place in Sweden or the UK.
